Minneapolis City Hall

Conceived in the late 1880s, construction started on this building that fills a whole city block in 1892. Construction finally ended in 1906 and for a while, this building was just too big. Two floors were rented out to various concerns for a number of years.

This place is so big, I'm going to have to find a way to get UP to get a good view of this building. City Hall started with a light court that occupied the center of the building, but that has now been filled in with offices. On the Fourth Avenue side, a ramp has been constructed that leads to an underground parking ramp. This is where they bring in suspects to be booked.

The main entrance is on Fourth Street, however, the day I was taking pictures of this building, a bunch of construction equipment had partially obscured the ground level.
